While it’s true that the 2024 Ford Bronco is shaping up to be one of the best off-roading rides you can drive, it does something rival off-road-centric vehicle manufacturers just can’t seem to get right: on-road fluency and handling. Normally, when you opt for a ride with an engine and chassis built for taking the paths less traveled, it can feel like pulling teeth to get there on the paved roads. The Bronco is a proud exception to this.

What’s It Capable Of?

The vehicle’s engine specs are what give it its capabilities, and that’s why Ford loaded the Bronco up with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost® I-4 engine mated to a seven-speed transmission. Programs like the Electronic Stability Control, Hill Start Assist, and Hill Descent Control are essential for safety off the road, which is why Ford made these standard features on all Bronco models. The Bronco is capable of towing up to 3,500 pounds without any additional trailering equipment or add-ons.

HOSS 1.0 System

One of our favorite Bronco features, HOSS stands for High-Performance Off-Road Stability Suspension. This program employs heavy-duty dampers, an independent front suspension, and corner coil springs placed higher up for better articulation, response, and continued stability even on rough terrain.

Safety Features

The Bronco features a Post-Collision Braking system that helps protect you and your loved ones by lessening the severity of the impact. It can do this by engaging the brakes automatically, tightening seatbelts, and ensuring airbags are properly deployed. There is also a Pre-Collision Assist program that allows the Bronco to apply the brakes on its own if an impending accident is sensed and the driver can’t respond in time. The Bronco’s Personal Safety System™ includes your very own co-pilot.

Ford’s Co-Pilot

This suite of safety features is Ford’s pride and joy, and they meticulously update this system every year to give you the latest and best driver assistance programs. The 2024 Bronco’s version of the Co-Pilot includes a 360-degree camera that offers live feeds of the cameras on your Bronco’s front, rear, and mirrors. This allows you to see bird’s-eye views as well as an off-road overlay to show you where your Bronco will be traveling before you get there.

The Bronco can stand out from the crowd despite being in such an over-saturated vehicle class because its on-road driving is competitive, and its off-road fluency is unmatched. Come test drive the Bronco with us here at Oliver Ford Lincoln any day this week!
