From Your Ford Dealer: Understanding Your Ford Car Warranty for 2024
Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty
This warranty covers the majority of systems and components and protects them against any unforeseen manufacturing or labor-related issues. Any warranty repairs will be performed by Ford-trained technicians using only Ford-approved replacement parts. Warranty coverage applies for the first three years or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first.
Your tires are also included in the warranty coverage even though they are not manufactured by Ford. If a tire is defective, your warranty covers 100% of the labor cost for replacement. The full cost of a replacement tire is covered within the first twelve months and prorated for the remainder of the warranty period.
Powertrain Warranty
Your engine, transmission, FWD, RWD, 4WD, or AWD drivetrain are all protected by this warranty. It protects all components in these systems, with certain exceptions noted in your warranty handbook. Coverage applies for the first five years or 60,000 miles of ownership. Protected components include all internal lubricated engine parts, all internal transmission components, and the axle shafts.
Diesel Engine Warranty
If your Ford has a direct-injection diesel engine, the engine and certain other components are covered for five years or 100,000 miles.
Hybrid/Electric Unique Components
If you have a hybrid or plug-in hybrid, its unique electrical drivetrain and systems are protected for eight years or 100,000 miles. The high-voltage battery is also protected against any defect. Like all batteries, this battery will naturally lose a small amount of capacity over time. This decrease is not a defect and is not covered by warranty.
Corrosion Coverage Warranty
The last thing you want to see on your new Ford is corrosion. Almost every metal is susceptible to corrosion, and your Ford’s body and sheet metal sections are protected against this problem. Special protection is applied to all the metal during manufacture, and this protection doesn’t need to be reapplied. This warranty protects your Ford against corrosion and rust for five years and unlimited mileage.
Supplemental Restraint System Warranty
Your seat belts and airbags are some of your most essential protective systems. They have extended protection that applies for five years or 60,000 miles.
