2022 Ford Edge
The 2022 Ford Edge is a popular two-row midsize SUV with a sleek, modern look. It has a smooth, quiet ride, a luxurious interior, and plenty of convenient features. It's excellent for comfortable commuting or a fun family trip. Here's some more information about this versatile, appealing vehicle.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
With the 2022 Edge, you can choose from five trim levels: ST, Titanium, ST-Line, SEL, and SE. The base SE comes with angular, wiper-activated automatic headlights, manually folding power side mirrors, active grille shutters, a windshield wiper and washer for the back window, a rear defroster, and 18-inch wheels. The oval grille has the Ford symbol in the middle. You'll also get a smaller lower grille, dual exhaust, sculpted sides, privacy glass, LED daytime running lights, active grille shutters, and a rear spoiler.
With the Titanium and the ST, you'll get rain-sensing windshield wipers. The Titanium has 19- or 20-inch wheels, and the ST has 20- or 21-inch wheels. The ST-Line uses 20-inch wheels. The SEL and the ST-Line also come with heated power side mirrors and puddle lights. With the SEL and higher trims, you can add a panoramic moonroof and LED fog lights.
Engine (Power)
With the SE, SEL, ST-Line, and Titanium, you'll get a 2-liter, four-cylinder, turbocharged engine that gives 250 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. With the ST, there's a 2.7-liter, V-6, twin-turbo EcoBoost engine that provides 335 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque. The 2-liter option has an eight-speed automatic transmission. With the 2.7-liter engine, you'll get a seven-speed automatic transmission. Both engines use a rotary gear shifter with manual and overdrive modes.
Performance
The Edge comes with an acoustic windshield, responsive power steering, traction control, electronic stability control, and an independent suspension. Both engines have start-and-stop systems to reduce idling in traffic and conserve fuel. Accessories like the heater stay on to keep you and your passengers comfortable. All-wheel drive is standard, and you can get 21 mpg in traffic and 28 mpg on the highway with the 2-liter engine. With the V-6, you'll get 19 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on larger roads. Premium gas is recommended.
Interior
The base SE comes with four USB ports, dual-zone automatic climate control, two 12-volt power outlets, a cabin air filter, a 12-inch center-stack multi-function screen, and push-button start. You'll also get an outdoor temperature display, a compass, audio and cruise controls on the steering wheel, and eight cupholders. With the SEL and the ST, you can add a universal garage door opener. It's standard with the ST-Line. The ST and the ST-Line come with power liftgates as well. The Titanium has a heated steering wheel, and it's optional with the SEL, ST-Line, and ST.
Safety Features
The 2022 Ford Edge comes with a variety of advanced safety features, including a rearview camera, automatic emergency braking, a post-crash alert system, dual-stage front airbags that can work at different speeds, and a security system.
