2019 Lincoln Continental Earns TOP SAFETY PICK+ from IIHS

The 2019 Lincoln Continental earned the TOP SAFETY PICK+ from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, making it two straight years that it has earned this top honor for safety. In so doing, the Continental also becomes the first vehicle to earn the prize in 2019. In order for the 2019 Lincoln Continental to earn the TOP SAFETY PICK+, it had to earn scores of “Good” in every one of IIHS’ crashworthiness tests: driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraints. Further, it had to pull in a “Good” headlight rating, which it earned with its available LED projector headlights, and an “Advanced” or “Superior” rating for front crash prevention. With respect to the latter, the Lincoln Continental pulled down a “Superior” score thanks to standard Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection, which helped the vehicle completely avoid a collision at speeds of 12 mph and 25 mph. With respect to the former, the available LED headlights provide ample visibility on both straight roads and on most curves. They can also be had with an available high-beam assist feature that automatically switches between low and high beams, depending on light levels and the presence of other vehicles. Not only is the 2019 Lincoln Continental one of the safest vehicles on the road, but it’s also among the most stylish. Experience the award-winning Lincoln Continental for yourself at Oliver Lincoln.
