Ford Bronco Hybrid

We know that the Ford Bronco is making its long-awaited return very soon, but we’ve wondered where this rugged SUV might fit in with Ford’s plans to go greener. If company CEO Jim Hackett’s words on a recent investor call hold true, the answer may come in the form of a Ford Bronco Hybrid.

Hackett confirmed on a recent investor call that there will be a Ford Bronco hybrid variant, joining the Explorer, F-150, and Mustang as the latest Ford vehicles to get electrified variants. But beyond this confirmation, much is as-yet unknown about the Bronco, its hybrid off-shoot, and the smaller “Baby Bronco” off-road SUV that has been teased for some time.

What we do know is that the Ford Bronco will likely be offered with two doors or four doors as well as the off-road-friendly option to remove the top and the doors. We’ve seen a teaser that suggests the Bronco will retain its iconic boxy shape, but we won’t really know much for sure until Ford rips the cover off sometime next year.
